What To Do If You Want To Return A Gift But Have No Receipt? [POLL]

"Oh my god, this is so great! No seriously...thanks I love it," said everyone at some point in their lives on a Christmas morning.

Now the question is, what do you do with it afterwards? Especially with the fear that they might ask to see that very gift in the future?

I have been confronted with the very awkward situation of wanting to return an item but was not being given a receipt to do so.

So tell me, what is the correct course of action?

Am I missing an option? Did you do something differently that I am not thinking of?
