High-Speed Powerboat Action is Back: War at the Shore Hits AC
The War at the Shore is coming to Atlantic City this weekend!
The powerboats will roar along the coast of Atlantic City to thrill crowds at speeds topping 160 miles per hour.
Back in the 80s and 90s, Atlantic City hosted the world championships for offshore power boating. This event is trying to recapture the glory of those days.
The War at the Shore returned to Atlantic City last year for the first time since 2016, and the reaction was enthusiatic.
The event offers prize money, raising the stakes and attracting the sport's top racers.
This year's War at the Shore on the Atlantic City Boardwalk is presented by North Beach Atlantic City, Visit Atlantic City, and the Atlantic City Sports Commission.
This Weekend's Schedule
Friday and Saturday are warmup days, and you have the chance to see the boats up close and meet the drivers starting at 10 a.m. The boats will be on display at the Showboat Water Park on Pacific Avenue.
Sunday, June 8th, is Race Day. Top teams from around the world will compete in four races, each taking place at noon, 1 p.m., 2 p.m., and 3 p.m..
If you can't make it to a race? No problem!
You can watch the action on YouTube and hear the radio pre-race show at 10 am on ESPN 97.3 FM.
Where to Watch?
You can get an excellent view of the action from dozens of vantage points along the North Beach boardwalk.
Be a part of viewing parties at Ocean Casino Resort, Hard Rock Hotel and Casino, Resorts Casino Hotel, or at Showboat, or watch from over the water at the end of Steel Pier.
