Facebook exploded today with posts about a man who was described as a serial killer who was on the loose at the Jersey shore.

When I first saw it, it grabbed my attention immediately.

The public around #oceancounty is being warned to be alert & vigilant as there is a serial killer on the run. This man goes around knocking on peoples' doors claiming to be homeless ,seeking help & he attacks you after gaining your trust. He's ruthless and very dangerous

Oh my God, I thought.  This is a scary situation.

The post also said,

On Thursday, he attacked a 37 year old single mom with a knife and left her struggling for her life.  Known as Robert Thibodeau aged 52 years, also stole a vehicle from an 83-year-old grandmother under the guise of helping her offload groceries from her car. If you see him please call the police and be careful. Warn others

How terrible!

I hope the woman pulls through.

It even had a picture of the supposed serial killer.

I thought, he DOES look mean.

I was going to reach out to my friend Sheriff Joe O'Donoghue.

I've seen pictures of the felons he and his team capture.

Surely he and the rest of our law enforcement agencies will get this guy.

Uh, but before I called, I wanted to know more about this guy.

Hmm, something is wrong here.

It appears that this post has appeared in many different states.

How could that be?

All the news we get from Facebook is real, isn't it?
