Happy B-day, Carly Simon! [VIDEO]

townsquaremedia[/caption]Today is singer/songwriter/children's author Carly Simon's b-day, and you'll never guess how old she is.  She is...70!  And I must say she looks fabulous!

Although Carly has enjoyed a long successful musical career, she has admitted in interviews that she is not very comfortable on stage.  That seems ironic for someone with a career in music.  And though I have never seen her perform on stage, I did have the pleasure of meeting her several years ago.  Even one-on-one she seemed a bit shy and never took off her sunglasses.  However, she was gracious and sweet and just a super nice person.  And best of all, a friend of mine (who is a huge fan) got to meet her too.  And Carly was genuinely touched when my friend told her she named her daughter Carly, after her of course!

So, Happy 70th B-day to Carly Simon.  And apparently 70 is the new 60.  Or 50. :)
