One of South Jersey's highlights of summer happens this Sunday, June 29th -- Hammonton's 39th annual Red, White & Blueberry Festival.

The Blueberry Capital of the World celebrates its favorite fruit this Sunday with a day of music, rides, arts and crafts, and blueberries in every imaginable form.

Hammonton Really is the Blueberry Capital of the World

Hammonton has the best blueberries. It's not some marketing slogan, it's the truth.

Chefs and produce aficionados the world over swear by them and seek out the Hammonton label on their blueberries.

Farmers say the Atlantic and Burlington Counties Pinelands have the perfect soil for delicious blueberries.

It's a "ph thing", according to the Pinelands-related website, pineypower.com...

"Blueberries plants are very particular about is the soil's pH, which should be around 4.0 to 5.5.This is the reason they flourish in NJ's Pine Barrens!"

In 1977, Hammonton started the Red, White & Blueberry Festival to coincide with July's peak blueberry harvest season.

This year, at the festival of all things blueberry, they will consume over a million blueberries in one day.

What Are Some of the Blueberry Foods Available?

Are you ready for some blueberry pizza, blueberry cannolis, drinks, cake pops, muffins, turnovers, bagels, blueberry ice cream, and more?

And what would a blueberry festival be without a blueberry pie-eating contest? We won't be finding out this Sunday in Hammonton.
