The economic ramifications continue to be felt across the retail industry with more store closings and staff cuts in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The latest store closings comes from GameStop as the retailer plans to close 100 more stores than originally announced this past March.

According to CNN, the retailer will close up to 450 locations world wide  by the end of the year. The company also announced that there could even be more Game Stop locations that will close in 2021.

There are over 70 GameStop locations in the Garden State. South Jersey GameStop locations include Atlantic City,  Mays Landing, Vineland, Cherry Hill, Rio Grande and Somers Point.

My boys use to drag me to GameStop at least once a week when they were young. They would get so excited when the game they were waiting for finally become available.
