There has been a series of vehicle break-ins and thefts in the Galloway area according to the website Patch. Galloway police have turned to the public to warn and alert them of the break-ins. The thefts have mainly taken place in the Smithville area and the Club Section of Galloway Township.

Break-ins are a crime of opportunity and the opportunity increases greatly when you fail to lock your car or leave valuables in them. In this instance, every break-in was due to a vehicle being unlocked and the combination of keys or key fob left inside the vehicile.

Police are urging residents to make sure their car is locked and not to leave valuable in them. You can contact the Gallaway police tip line if you have any information on the recent car break-ins at 609.652.1234.
