Spring is coming and so is opening weekend at Six Flags Great Adventure. The 2020 season officially kicks of the weekend of April 4th and 5th.

Get ready for another season of family rides, thrill rides, hurricane harbor,  entertainment and animal attractions. In fact, Six Flags has 75 species of animals from six continents.

This year, Six Flags will introduce five new animal species as they celebrate the fast and the curious for the 2020 season. You can check out all of these amazing animals in the theme park's Wild Walkway and Camp Aventura.

Here are the five new species coming to Six Flags for 2020:

    Cheetah's "Bear" and "Bo"

    These speedy cats can reach up to speeds of 75 mph and are covered with nearly 2,000 solid black spots. They also have a prowess for hunting.

    Great Horned Owl "Luna"

    Great horned owls are powerful and protective parents and are sometime known as tiger owls.These carnivores have an impressive wing span of of 3.3 to 4.8 feet.

    The smallest falcon in North America is a fierce predator hunting for mice at night. They are known for diving for their prey.

    Patagonian Cavy "Amelia'

    These large rabbit-like rodents only eat plants and can run speeds of up to 45 mph.They are considered a near threatened species.

    Ferrets "Johnny" and David"

    These curious and playful mammals are known for stealing small items. They also sleep from 14 to 18 hours a day.
