A major fentanyl and heroin ring being run out of Gloucester Township and Camden was recently busted after a 17-month investigation by state and local police.

The drug bust 'Operation Speed Bump' reportedly uncovered enough fentanyl to kill a million people, reports Patch.com.

The ring was found to be in possession of 4 pounds of fentanyl, 5 pounds of heroin, and 6 pounds of cocaine, according to authorities. It only takes 2 milligrams of fentanyl to become a fatal dose, so the math there (and the potential for serious loss of life) is scary.

The drug ring was reportedly being run out of several homes in Gloucester Twp. and Camden, according to Patch.com.

Detectives made their move on March 30th after obtaining a warrant to search the Gloucester Twp. home of 35-year-old Randy Mora.

Mora was arrested and has been charged with a number of crimes, including charged with possession of heroin, fentanyl, and cocaine with intent to distribute (each separate offenses), money laundering, and endangering the welfare of a minor.

30-year-old Jennifer Gonzales, 41-year-old Daniel Garcia, and 42-year-old Felix Cruz-Ventura, all from Camden, were also taken into custody and now faces similar charges.

It's wild to me to think this was all going on where I grew up, and where my mom still lives!

In a statement, Attorney General Gurbir Grewal applauded the efforts of New Jersey State Police and Gloucester Twp. Police, saying, "This case is another great example of how law enforcement has stepped up to the challenges of this health crisis, continuing to give 100 percent to protect our communities, in this case by shutting down this major distribution ring and preventing thousands of potentially lethal doses of fentanyl and heroin from reaching the street."

The narcotics bust also reportedly resulted in the seizure of more than 20 pounds of marijuana, fire arms, prescription drugs, paraphernalia, and more than $50,000 in cash.

Thanks to the GTPD and NJSP for tirelessly working to ensure the safety of the community.
