A sad situation in Atlantic City yesterday as a woman was found passed out inside a car, with two infants and drugs inside.

Police responded after a 911 caller made a report "that a woman was passed out in a vehicle with two infants, and a man with them was walking back and forth through the parking lot." The call came in just after 10:40am about the car, parked in the Renaissance Plaza parking lot, in the 1500 block of Atlantic Avenue.

Here are the details, according to Atlantic City Police:

Officer Auttika Taing located the vehicle occupied by Matthew Williford, Randi Sleister, and two infants. Sleister was not awake when Officer Taing arrived.

During Officer Taing’s investigation, Williford was arrested after he located marijuana and hydrochloride pills in the car. Sleister, who is pregnant, was arrested and transported to the AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center, City Division, to be evaluated. She was found in possession of heroin.

The Department of Child Protection and Permanency was notified and responded. The infants were turned over to a family member.

ARRESTED: Matthew Williford, a 37-year-old man from Egg Harbor Township, NJ.

CHARGES: Two counts each of possession of a controlled dangerous substance and endangering the welfare of a child, and a single count of possession of drug paraphernalia.

ARRESTED: Randi Sleister, a 41-year-old woman from Egg Harbor Township, NJ.

CHARGES: Three counts of possession of CDS, two counts of endangering the welfare of a child, and a single count of possession of drug paraphernalia.

Both were remanded to the Atlantic County Justice Facility.
