The heartwarming story of the fall came to a very happy ending Friday night.  At halftime of  the Egg Harbor Township football game, the traditional announcement of the year's Homecoming Queen was made.  The winner  was 18 year-old Sarah Hendrixson.  Sarah was born with a condition called Trisomy 21, a form of Down's Syndrome.  Despite her disability, Sarah has excelled in school and is a member of  the Key Club,  the choir, the dance team and the cheerleading squad.   She competes in the Special Olympics, volunteers at a nursing home and is now dating.    She is also an extremely popular student, as you can tell by Sarah's winning margin as the first  special education student to be elected  Egg Harbor Township High's Homecoming Queen.  Sarah received 90% of her classmates votes.  It's a story worthy of a movie!  Congratulations, Sarah!
