Dog Gone Wrong: Galloway Woman Paid $20k, Never Got Service Dog
A Galloway woman sent around $20,000 to a company in West Virginia that promised to send her a service dog, but two years later, she still does not have the dog.
Galloway Township Police say it was an online scam and warn about keeping careful records of your online financial transactions.
Galloway Woman Tires of Waiting for Promised Dog
In a Facebook post on Tuesday, Galloway Township Police tell the story of a Township woman who turned to a West Virginia woman to find a service dog and paid her about $20, 000 over two years but never received a service dog.
Police say the victim reported that she paid “Causey Labradors and Training, LLC” over two years for a service canine. Despite mailing full payments and having numerous contacts with the business, the unnamed woman never received her service canine.
Galloway Twp Police Arrest Out-of-State Dog Trainer
Galloway Township Police investigated the local woman's claims and identified Catherine Causey,52, of Kearneysville, West Virginia as the suspect.
On Tuesday, Aug. 20, Catherine Causey was arrested and charged with theft by deception and money laundering in the case.
Causey is being held at the Atlantic County Justice Facility pending a future court date.
