A late night scuffle at a housing complex in Wildwood over the weekend led to two people being arrested and drugs and a gun being seized by police.

Cops in Wildwood say at around 12:15 early Sunday morning, they received a 911 call about a large disturbance at the Commissioner’s Court Housing Authority Complex on the 3700 block of New Jersey Avenue. Upon their arrival, officers learned that at least one person involved had a gun.

Authorities detained 21-year-old Nick McNeal and 28-year-old Alexander Williams, both of Whitesboro.

During an investigation, cops were able to locate video surveillance of the incident that allegedly showed Williams discard a gun as police arrived. That gun, a loaded .40 caliber Kahr semi-automatic handgun, was recovered.

In addition, police say they searched two vehicles which resulted in suspected cocaine being found in one of them.

McNeal was charged with obstruction and he was released with a court date.

Williams was charged with Unlawful Possession of a Handgun, Possession of a Handgun for Unlawful Purpose, Certain Person Not to Possess a Handgun, Possession of Controlled Dangerous Substance (CDS) / Cocaine, Possession of CDS / Cocaine with the Intent to Distribute, and Possession of CDS / Cocaine with the Intent to Distribute Within 500 Feet of a Certain Public Place / Housing Authority Property. He was lodged in the Cape May County Correctional Center.
