Food Bank personnel say this is the first time anyone can remember that they have experienced such a critical shortage of people to help in their fight against hunger.

Volunteers are needed immediately to pack emergency meal kits, assemble family packs and more.

It's quite possible that this shortage of volunteers is related to Covid-19 concerns, but the Community Food Bank wants to assure you that they are observing strict social distancing, taking the temperatures of everyone entering the building and providing masks, gloves and hand sanitizer to volunteers.

All volunteers must be 14-years old or older and sign a Covid-19 waiver.

The truth is that the Community Food Bank of New Jersey Southern Branch has never needed your help more than they do right now.

The amount of people in New Jersey who are food insecure has almost doubled since the pandemic began and the number of children not sure where their next meal is coming from has risen to close to 20% statewide.

Southern New Jersey has been impacted even more severely, with Atlantic County's unemployment rates now among the highest in the country.

Please help the Community Food Bank of New Jersey Southern Branch with their good work by volunteering.
