Several Cape May County fire companies fought a ferocious blaze at a commercial garage in Tuckahoe on Saturday night.

The Tuckahoe Volunteer Fire Company posted on Facebook that they were called to a fire at a commercial garage at about 9:12 pm Saturday. When firefighters arrived, they found flames shooting out of the roof of the building.

Several South Jersey Fire Companies Responded

Tuckahoe Fire Company called in help with additional tanker trucks from Ocean View Fire Company, Belleplain Fire Company, and an engine from Strathmere Fire Company.

Fire crews worked for about 3 hours to control the fire, with conditions made worse by a large amount of debris, referred to as a "heavy hoarding condition," and a deep-seated fire.

Fire units from Ocean City Fire Company, Dorothy Fire Company, Ocean View Fire Company, and the Woodbine Fire Company provided station coverage for the township while the fire was being contained.
