Here in South Jersey, we're a very patriotic bunch.

As we should be. What's wrong with honoring the brave men and women of our armed forces? After all, they're the ones, much like our first responders, who put their lives on the line for the rest of us so we don't have to. They deserve our respect and appreciation.

Adhering to that last point, a lot of South Jersey businesses and organizations like to above and beyond on the days dedicated to our men and women in uniform.

Thursday, November 11th is Veterans Day. On that day, veterans will be able to take advantage of a lot of different discounts, deals, and freebies from South Jersey local businesses as their way of saying "thank you for your service".

Not only will veterans be able to take advantage of freebies and discounted services. This year, they'll get the opportunity to enjoy experiences, as well. One specific experience true to South Jersey is a ride on the Cape May-Lewes Ferry. The Cape May-Lewes Ferry is a South Jersey staple. People hop on board and take it over to Delaware and make an entire day trip out of it.

Veterans will be able to do just that this Veterans Day at absolutely no cost to them. The folks over at the ferry confirmed it on their Facebook page. Veterans taking a ferry ride on that day will also receive free coffee or soda as well as food and merchandise discounts, too.

All of the information you need to take advantage of this South Jersey excursion can be found HERE.
