Two zebras, Ziggy and Greta, at the Cape May County Zoo are the proud parents of a female foal as of Monday night.

Officials at the zoo say they are keeping their distance at the moment but the mother and the baby are healthy and doing well.

"After the past few months, dealing with the impact of COVID-19 and the closing of the Parks and Zoo, it's a great pleasure to deliver some good news and announce the arrival of the zebra foal," said Freeholder E. Marie Hayes, liaison of the Parks and Zoo, in a press release Wednesday.

Ziggy, Greta, and their foal are all out and those visiting the zoo may be able to catch a glimpse of the newest addition.
