Brazilian Soccer Team Lands at ACY
The hugely popular Brazilian football club CR Flamengo arrived in America yesterday in preparation for next week's FIFA Club World Cup.
CR Flamengo is one of four Brazilian clubs in this year's World Cup, the most of any nation involved.
With an estimated fanbase of 49 million people, CR Flamengo had an almost perfect record against South America this year, ending the season with 12 wins and a draw.
The sports site Mix Vale covered the teams' landing at Atlantic City International with great interest.
CR Flamengo Will Spend the Weekend At Stockton
Flamengo’s World Cup debut is set for Monday against Espérance from Tunisia at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia.
Here's how Mix Vale sets the scene for the team staying at Stockton.
Opting for Atlantic City as their base, the club aims for a serene environment to focus on training, away from urban distractions.
With the first training session scheduled for Thursday afternoon at 5 p.m. Brasília time, Flamengo begins preparations in a setting that blends the calm of a coastal town with top-notch facilities at Stockton University in New Jersey.
Unlike Philadelphia, Atlantic City was chosen as the team’s base. Known as the “Las Vegas of the East Coast” for its casinos, the city offers a quieter setting ideal for preparation. Just an hour from Philadelphia, it allows easy travel for games while providing a peaceful environment for players.
Stockton University in New Jersey will serve as Flamengo’s training center. Its modern facilities, including high-quality fields, meet the needs of the coaching staff.
Well, now we have a team to root for in the FIFA Club World Cup. Good luck, CR Flamengo!
