Stafford Township Police received a call Monday afternoon with the report of a bomb threat at the Manahawkin NJ Motor Vehicle Commission.

Stafford Twp. Police say an unknown caller reported a bomb threat at 3:30 pm Monday at the Manahawkin NJ Motor Vehicle Commission office at 712 East Bay Avenue.
How Was the Situation Managed by the Police?
Police say they immediately responded to the scene at the Manahawkin Plaza Shopping Center and evacuated the MVC and the surrounding businesses as a precaution. Other businesses in the shopping plaza include Value City Furniture, a hair salon, a doctor's office, a pizza shop, and the Manahawkin campus of Stockton University.
No Explosive Device Was Found
The Ocean County Sheriff's Department K-9 Unit and a Beach Haven Police Department K-9 Unit responded to the scene. The DMV and surrounding buildings were searched and cleared of any threat by the K-9 units, according to a police statement on Facebook.
After the search was completed, the businesses returned to normal operation.
