Let's face it. Parking anywhere near one of our amazing Jersey Shore beaches is never easy. Sometimes it's so frustrating there's almost anything we'll do to find a spot.

Even if the frustration level reaches a near boiling point, there are certain things we can't do. There are things that I saw this weekend that infuriated me even more than not finding a parking spot.

People at the Jersey Shore are often heard complaining about how much it costs to park in one of those lots near the beaches, but is driving around for an hour and a half battling other frenzied parking spot seekers really a better option?

Not if what I saw this weekend is going to happen all summer long. I saw parkers doing things that had me fuming because they were causing more traffic with every move they made.

So I came up with a list of the three terrible parking spot-seeking moves we all need to stop doing immediately. They are in no particular order.

The Stalker. The minute someone leaves the beach area, whether they are putting something in their car, getting something out of their car, or just taking a stroll, they are inevitably followed by a vehicle stalking them until it's known if they're leaving the spot.

The Zone Defense. Did you ever see the guy who double-parks on a road and just sits in his car waiting for someone to pull out? He believes he has claimed any spot that opens up on the whole block as his own. He is the king of that zone.

The Squeezer. No matter how many times you back out and try to pull back in, your car is not going to fit in that spot. But you keep trying until you lurch out angrily into traffic because you've finally admitted it to yourself.

Each one of these habits either slows down traffic to a crawl or put some other driver or pedestrian in danger. So let's put these options behind us for the rest of the summer. For the good of everyone.
