The event, which was also cancelled in 2020 due to the pandemic, usually attracts more than 50,000 people.

The Bayfest committee held meetings with local, county and state officials and determined, amidst the ongoing concerns of the pandemic, the 2021 version of Bayfest would be cancelled. The main reason of the cancelation was the safety of visitors, vendors and volunteers. The next Bayfest in Somers Point will be held in April of 2022.

The festival is known for vendors, live music delicious food, contests, pony rides, face painting, inflatables and of course family fun for children of all ages.

According to the recently updated NJ COVID-19 website, general outdoor gathering must be limited to 25 people and social distancing must be practiced. There is no limit for outdoor gatherings when it comes to wedding ceremonies, funerals, memorial, services, religious activates or political activates.

Indoor gatherings must be limited to 10 people and face masks must be worn with social distancing, When it comes to gathering for wedding ceremonies, funerals or memorial services attendance must be limited to 35 percent of the room's capacity and not more than 150 individuals.
