Atlantic City’s St. Patrick’s Day Parade: 6 Things to Know
I hope you are ready to get your Irish up because the 2025 Atlantic City St Patrick's Day Parade is going to be a blast! How do I know?
I went to last year's parade, that's how. It's one of my favorite days of the year in the Atlantic City.
Here are six things you should know about this year's St. Paddy's Day Parade in Atlantic City.
When & Where Is the Parade?
The 37th annual St. Patrick's Day Parade is on Saturday, March 8 at 1 pm on the Atlantic City Boardwalk.
Who is the Parade Grand Marshal This Year?
It's a great lady!
Bridget Pierce, a 29-year veteran of the Atlantic City Police Department, made history as the first woman to attain the rank of Deputy Chief.
Bridget’s connection to the Atlantic City St. Patrick’s Day Parade runs deep.
As a child, she and her sisters, Mary Grace and Jenny, proudly participated in the parade, carrying banners for the Greater Pittsburgh Club and the Irish Pub.
This year, she will take her place at the front of the parade as Grand Marshal, an honor that reflects her lifelong dedication to Atlantic City, her Irish heritage, and her unwavering commitment to service.
Will Kelsey Grammer Be There?
Well, yes he will. Kelsey, the affable star of Cheers and Frazier, was one of last year's Grand Marshals and has accepted an invitation to attend again this year.
That keeps us within the terms of the law that mandates that Grammer must be part of everything that happens in Atlantic City.
Kidding...we love you, Kelsey.
Who is in the Parade?
The parade committee is expecting more than 70 floats, 80 acts, 9 string bands, 8 teams of Irish dancers, four piper bands, and 3 French hens. All true, except that last one.
120 groups are registered to participate.
Atlantic City's St. Patrick's Day Parade brings everybody together -- people of different groups of ethnicities and ages, all hanging out and enjoying a peaceful celebration while benefiting AC's bars, restaurants, casinos, and small and large businesses.
How Many People Go to the Parade?
Last year's parade crowd was estimated at 44,000 people.
From my perspective, I didn't think it was quite that many folks, but it was still A LOT of people.
The St. Paddy's Parade committee thinks they could hit 70,000 in attendance on a sunny day.
What is the Route for the Parade?
The parade lines up at 500 Boardwalk, outside of Ocean Casino Resort, and moves down the Boardwalk to the Stockton University campus at Albany Avenue.
