There was a disruption of service on the Atlantic City rail line Thursday evening after a scary crash on the tracks.

A crash involving an NJ Transit train and an SUV in Atco at 8:37 pm Thursday forced the cancellation of rail service for the night. NJ Transit reports that the Atlantic City rail line is now back on time.

NJT posted on social media Thursday night saying that an NJ Transit train heading for Atlantic City struck a vehicle near Atco and a substitute bus was being dispatched to transport stranded train passengers.

An NBC 10 helicopter flying overhead caught video of passengers being let out on the tracks after the crash.

A tow truck was seen later towing a mangled vehicle off the tracks, according to NBC10. The back of the car had significant damage and the front windshield of the car was smashed.
