Atlantic City Police arrested a juvenile suspect Wednesday in the armed sexual assault of a 14-year old boy in the city earlier this month.

According to a Facebook post, Atlantic City Police officers arrested a 16-year-old juvenile male in the 800 block of Indiana Avenue at 12.28pm, Wed. May 20. At the time of his arrest, the juvenile was in possession of a loaded handgun.

The charges stem from an investigation that began on May 11 when a 14-year-old male reported that he had been sexually assaulted inside an abandoned building in the 1800 block of Marmora Avenue. The suspect was in possession of a handgun at the time of the assault.

The suspect has been charged with aggravated sexual assault, sexual assault, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, and two counts of unlawful possession of a weapon. He is being held at the Harborfields Detention Facility.
