
Absecon, NJ, Man Pleads Guilty to Unlawful Possession of Handgun
An Absecon man has pleaded guilty to a gun-related charge and now faces five years in state prison.
On Tuesday, 22-year-old Quasir Smith pleaded guilty to a second-degree unlawful possession of a handgun charge, according to the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office.
On February 10, 2022, Galloway Township Police responded to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center–Mainland Campus for a report of a handgun found on Quasir Smith by hospital personnel. Smith was subsequently placed under arrest.
As part of his plea agreement, Smith will have a 3 ½ year period of parole ineligibility and he must forfeit the gun.
Sentencing is scheduled for May 9th.
