If you love Philly sports and are looking to save some money on your cable or streaming costs, you now have another option with the NBC Philadelphia Regional Sports Network, streamed on Peacock.

The question you have to answer is how much money will you save with this new package?

Just before opening day for the Phillies, a new add-on option to Peacock will allow you to watch the Phils, the Flyers and the 76ers, with certain restrictions.

Let's Get to the Price Right Up Front

A subscription to Peacock is required to choose this new local sports add-on.

Peacock costs $7.99 per month for a premium subscription and $13.99 for a premium plus subscription.

The NBC Sports Philadelphia add-on costs $24.95 a month, meaning you with pay a minimum of $32.94 per month to stream games without a cable subscription.

Live stream subscriptions aren't much of a bargain either these days, with YouTube TV, having just gone up to $82.99 a month and Fubo, which carries a stream of NBC Sports Philadelphia, starting at $84.99 per month.

What Does/Doesn't The NBC Sports/Peacock Package Include?

Peacock is NBCUniversal's streaming service and features an extensive library of movies, shows, and original content, and over 8,000 hours of live sports and entertainment programming, including NFL games and WWE events.

Peacock will also add more NBA games beginning with the 2025-2026 season when an 11-year partnership between the league and NBC is set to begin.

That will include 100 national games each regular season, with approximately 50 Peacock-exclusive national regular-season and postseason NBA games, including national Monday night games and doubleheaders.

Note: this could be important.

The NBC Sports Philadelphia add-on will not include coverage of nationally televised Phillies, Flyers, and 76ers games.

Is It Worth It?

You tell me. I actually thinking about taking a closer look.

We switched to YouTube TV a couple of years ago and I have mixed emotions about it, much as I did with the cable we had previously.

The price is a big factor in my reasoning. I will have to investigate Peacock and what's included in its two pricing options a little more closely for one thing.

I would like to get your thoughts in the comments section.
