The IRS has sent out 165 million third stimulus checks since March and a 4th stimulus check from the federal government could still be a distinct possibility for later this year according to CNET.com.
Another rebate check worth $500 from the state could be in our hands in the next few months according to Patch.com. The rebate checks are part of the $319 million package approved by state officials last fall.
The funding for the rebates still needs to be approved in the Governor's next budget proposal. Lawmakers are scheduled to vote on the proposal in the next month or so. The budget and the next round of rebates are expected to pass.
We could be receiving the $500 rebate check during the month of July. Also included in the deal are rebate checks for married parents filing a joint tax return and have at least one child and earn a maximum of $150,000.
The $500 rebate checks for residents of New Jersey will be based off of your 2020 gross income and taxes filed for 2020 this spring.
