One of five grants valued at close to $10 million from NJ's Activation, Revitalization, and Transformation Program will help in the building of an outdoor shipping container retail and entertainment project on a vacant lot at 1400 Pacific Avenue in Atlantic City.

Grant Will Help Build Tenn Ave AC

MAP 3 Partners LLC, which includes developers Mark Callazzo, Adam Zengel, and Paige Washington -- players in the revitalization of Atlantic City's Tennessee Avenue -- is set to receive a grant of $2,484,850 from the New Jersey Economic Development Authority.

The grant will be used for the creation of a container park, a transformative project of entertainment and community use that is expected to turn an unused space into a local resource.

Part entertainment venue, part local vendor market, part gourmet marketplace, the modern container park concept has been a trendy addition in Atlanta, Las Vegas, Orlando, Salt Lake City and more.

What Are the Key Features of Tenn Ave AC?

The park will utilize a mix of 28 renovated shipping containers and traditional brick-and-mortar structures at the corner of Pacific and Tennessee avenues.

Developers say the complex will include an area for local farms and small businesses to bring a variety of produce and products, local retail vendors, classrooms, and spaces used for education, art, and community gatherings.

The plans also called for a live performance stage, a recording studio, rooftop outdoor seating, and roadside murals.

These container “villages” are becoming a way to drive traffic to urban areas with a fresh innovative concept that targets customers looking for something different.

When Will Building Begin?

Construction is expected to begin later this year. The MAP 3 Partners are looking for tenants for the retail spaces. Those interested can contact: info@tennaveac.com
