Ever wonder if your food is still good in the fridge after you lose power due to a storm?

We all thought about it at one point or another, more so this week with Hurricane Florence on the way.

Well check out this neat refrigerator hack to help you decide.

Simple science experiment really.

All you need is a quarter and small cup of water. Fill the cup of water and then put it in the freezer to freeze. After it freezes take it out and put the quarter on top of the ice. Put the cup with the quarter on top back into the freezer. The next day go check on the frozen cup in the freezer. If you find the quarter sunk to the bottom of the cup, then you know the food is bad and the fridge was not working.

Time to chuck the food if you so desire.
