Gravity starring George Clooney and Sandra Bullock was the number 1 movie over the weekend. The sci-fi flick took in $55.6 million  to  break the record for biggest October opening ever. 

Last weekend's number one movie "Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs 2" dropped l to second with $14.5 million..
