In a series of tweets, Rowling reveals that she wrote this story years ago but has just recently started to revise the manuscript.

You do NOT need to download anything or register to read
The Ickabog. The story will be available at

Starting May 26th at 3:00 PM, a chapter or two will be published every weekday and it will last until July 10th.

But that is not all....

Rowling won't be personally judging the competition but if parents post artwork using the hashtag #TheIckabog, she can like, comment and retweet the artwork that she does see.

And finally....J.K. Rowling put the cherry on top by also mentioning that all of her author royalties will be going towards coronavirus relief efforts.

So amazing, isn't she?

The first two chapters of The Ickabog are going live in just a few hours....we hope you enjoy!
