April is National Autism Awareness Month. Autism spectrum disorder, refers to a range of conditions characterized by challenges with social skills, repetitive behaviors, speech and nonverbal communication, as well as by unique strengths and differences.

Elephants for Autism Music Festival is making it's annual appearance in Mays Landing with a special importance of spreading awareness and giving kids a chance to shine through with music!

A father and daughter from Vineland have created an organization with a mission to transform the lives of children with autism and special needs worldwide.

Kids with special needs or those on the autism spectrum often have difficulty in crowded, noisy situations with bright lights.  Now, Storybookland, a local amusement park is offering special needs kids an opportunity to enjoy the park in a much more subdued way.

In New Jersey, boys are 4.2 times more likely to have autism than girls. White and black children were more likely to be diagnosed than Hispanic children.

One in 68 kids is diagnosed with autism in our country, but it affects one in 45 kids in New Jersey.  Boys are five times more likely than in girls to have autism and it is likely that there is at least one autistic boy in on every classroom in New Jersey...

The sooner autism it is diagnosed, the better your child's chances of overcoming the challenges of this disorder. Know the warning signs.

The unfortunate truth is that there are a few cruel and mean people that are among us. What's worse, is that most of them are ignorant. This is a mixture for the situation the mother of an autistic child is dealing with.
