Powerball Jackpot Climbs to $500 Million
Somebody is going to start 2016 with a whole lot of spending money! USA Today reports that nobody has stepped forward and claimed Saturday's $334 million dollar power ball jackpot. Today's jackpot is now up to $500 million!
According to NBC news, that's the biggest lottery jackpot in nearly a year. Before taxes the cash option would be $306 million dollars.
Your odds of winning Wednesday's jackpot come in at 1 in 292.2 million. According to the Multi-State Lottery Association, 75% of all tickets sold are picked by the computer and 75% of winning tickets are computer picks. There goes my winning formula of playing my family's birthdays. Who could use $183 mill to start the new year?
