We have A LOT of free time on our hands these days so it is time to get creative!

My sister showed me this cool new arts and crafts project that I just had to share with you all because it is a perfect rainy day activity!

It is called Paint Pouring and here is what you will need:

Get a canvas -- the size is not really all that important. It is more about your personal preference.

Paint -- we used acrylic paint just FYI.

Mod Podge -- it is a gloss that helps keep the paint from mixing on the canvas. It is really cool. You'll see.

Water

If you do not have any of the tools listed above, you can still order from Amazon. They are not restocking non-essential items but how many people are really looking to order Mod Podge during a pandemic?

Okay, now let's get down to the fun stuff!

Step 1: Decide which colors you want on your canvas. For each color, you are going to pour some paint into a cup (fill up until about the first line of grooves), add about a dollop of Mod Podge, a splash of water and mix. Repeat this step for every individual color you want to use.

Step 2: Take an empty cup and layer the colors you want to use on your canvas. Depending on the size of your canvas, you may want to fill more than one cup to make sure there is enough paint to cover the entire area.

Step 3: This is the cool and messy part that you will want to do outside or over newspaper. You are going to flip the cups upside down on the canvas and simultaneously lift all of your cups at the same time. Tilt and lean your canvas to help the paint spread.

Step 4: Let it dry BUT DO NOT LET IT DRY OUTSIDE. My sisters and I made this mistake and let a few of our pieces dry outside. When we woke up, the paint was cracked and the overall visual was ruined.

You can use whichever colors, combinations and canvas sizes that you want. There is A LOT of room to be creative here.

Here is how mine came out when all was said and done:

Did you make one? Put a picture of it in the comments!

Thanks so much and hope you enjoy this as much as I did.
