Love is in the air with Valentine's Day right around the corner. The Garden State is still one of the most expensive states to have that all-important first date or keeping the romance alive date night.

The average cost for a date, according to a new study from Match.com is $102.32. The average date would consist of dinner for two, a bottle of wine and movie tickets.

The price of a date skyrockets in New Jersey to $239.95 which lands the Garden State as the second-most expensive state to date in the entire nation. The only place more expensive than Jersey is New York where it will cost you $297.27 for a single date.

Hawaii, Connecticut and California round out the top 5 most expensive states to date according to the USA Today.
