So let's do the math. The average for gas is $4.37 and one Jersey gas station is charging $6.89 if you use credit. It's $6.79 if you're paying cash.

The first thing that popped into my head when I saw this was that this gas station is price gouging. spoke to a rep from AAA and they said that gouging is considered to be 10-15% over the average price of fuel in the state. Also, gas stations aren't allowed to change the price of gas more than once per day.

Well, you don't have to take out a calculator to figure out that $6.89 per gallon is way more than 15% above the Jersey average of $4.37.

Anyone that suspects that the price at a pump abuse can file a claim with the Division of Consumer Affairs via its website.

Oh, the gas station pushing the $7 per gallon mark is Exxon on Route 202 in Bedminster. They are notoriously overly priced, but this is ridiculous.

As of Friday, March 11, 2022, there were only three gas stations pumping for less than four dollars a gallon. They are in East Hanover and Cliffside Park.
