I still remember the stress of trying to secure a coveted appointment for the vaccine when the AC mega-site first opened its doors in early January.

Those doors along with the other mega-sites in the state will now officially close according to a report from 6 ABC. There will be over 1,800 community vaccine sites and over 2,000 places where one can secure the shot in the Garden State.

Second doses of the vaccine will be given out in the next couple of months depending on the location of the vaccination center. The AC Mega-Site through AtlantiCare has second dose appointments scheduled through June 19th.
Over 5.3 million in New Jersey have already had the first dose of the vaccine and over 4.3 million or 49 percent of New Jersey's population are fully vaccinated. The goal according to the Governor is to have 70% fully vaccinated by the end of June.
The six mega-sites in the Garden State included the Atlantic County Mega Site at the Convention Center in AC, Rowan College of South Jersey in Deptford Township, the Moorestown Mall in Burlington County, the Meadowlands Complex in Bergen County, Rockaway Townsquare Mall in Morris County, New Jersey Convention, and Exposition Center in Middlesex County.
