New Jersey #1 When it Comes to Paying Property Taxes

The results are in and to no one's surprise, New Jersey is still numero uno when it comes to paying property taxes.

According to a new survey from the web site Wallet Hub, the average american spends $2,375 on property taxes unless, of course, you live in the Garden State.

New Jersey is Number 1 for property taxes for 2020. The annual taxes on home priced at state median value  for New Jersey is $8,104. You'll pay over $5,000 if your home is worth $205,000.

If you're looking to make a move to beat the highest property taxes in the nation you might want to consider Hawaii, which comes in at number 51. The average tax on a home worth $205,000 is only $560.

Alabama and Colorado come in at number 50 and 49 to round out the states with the lowest taxes.
