Macy’s Announces More Store Closures and Job Cuts

The hits keep on coming in 2020 for the struggling retail business. Macy's has announced that they will shut the doors on 125 stores over the next three years.

According to the USA Today over 2,000 cooperate and support positions will be eliminated also in the next three years.

The retail giant experienced disappointing sales during the all important 2019 holiday season. The company will focus on closing under performing stores in lower tier malls.

A list of stores that will close has not been released. Macy's has 24 locations in New Jersey. South Jersey locations include Mays Landing, Cherry Hill and Deptford.

No stores in New Jersey, including their store at Hamilton Mall in Mays Landing were on the original closing list as reported last month.
