Although the Eta Aquarid meteor shower has already peaked you may be able to see a shooting star display late Wednesday night into early Thursday morning according to NJ.com.

The main event for the month of May for astronomy lovers will be a lunar eclipse and full flower super moon that's set to take place on Wednesday, May 26th. The flower moon will be the second consecutive full moon of the year.

The lunar eclipse or blood moon due to its reddish color will be a full eclipse for the western part of the U.S. and a partial one for us according to the website Earth Sky. The partial lunar eclipse will coincide with the second consecutive super moon of 2021.

The flower moon gets its name from the abundance of flowers thanks to the spring season. The best time to view the closet supermoon of 2021 will be at  7:14 AM on Wednesday, May 26th.

The trifecta of supermoons will take place to start the summer season on June 24th as the Strawberry supermoon will be visible over the skies of South Jersey.
