The damage done to live music and concerts due to COVID-19 has been staggering for the entertainment industry.

One of the things I miss the most since the pandemic brought concerts and tours to a grinding halt, is the energy of a crowd, and seeing my favorite bands live on stage.

There could be a glimmer of hope when it comes to live concerts and outdoor events like the Atlantic City Air Show, sometime during the summer of 2021. That would only happen though if New Jersey reaches its vaccination goal, according to Governor Murphy, who appeared on Hurley in the Morning, on our sister station WPG Talk Radio, and a report from the Atlantic City Press.

There is optimism according to the Governor, that the live outdoor events window could open and be in place by Memorial Day or the 4th of July weekend.

It would all depend on vaccine rollout to the general public, which at this point seems almost impossible. I've tried numerous time to schedule an appointment only to come away empty handed. My latest attempt to schedule an appointment at the Atlantic City Convention Center's Mega Site resulted in me getting assigned #24,547. Appointments were full in less than 15 minutes.

I would love to enjoy a summer season full of live shows on the Atlantic City beaches, but is that goal out of reach? I have so many fond memories of summer beach concerts including Maroon 5, and being surrounded by Parrot Heads on a sweltering summer day during a Jimmy Buffett concert.

Fingers crossed we can get back to that this summer.
