Lite Rock Gives Thanks to South Jersey Teachers at Annual Banquet
Every teacher is a hero, and throughout the school year, thousands of students are influenced to pursue higher education because of inspiring teachers. It's been a successful 2016-17 school year here in South Jersey, and now it's time to honor some of the hardworking teachers.
Lite Rock celebrated some wonderful teachers on Wednesday, June 21st for their annual Teacher of the Year Banquet at Angelo’s Fairmont Tavern in Atlantic City. All of this year's winners of Lite Rock's Teacher of the Month enjoyed lunch together alongside the students who nominated them.
A special congratulations goes to the 2017's Lite Rock Teacher of the Year, Rachel Bey-Burghart from South Main Street School in Pleasantville and her nominating student, Derrek, who is our $2,000 scholarship winner!
Ms. Bey-Burghart has a wonderful website on donorschoose.org, where she is fundraising to give her students a better learning environment.
A huge thank you to every teacher who joined us, and a big thanks to all the teachers in the South Jersey! We look forward to having many more fantastic times together.
Below are some photos from the banquet. Check them out!
