Two men are facing charges after an alleged drug deal in Atlantic City.

Authorities in the World's Play Ground say at around noon Tuesday, ACPD detectives observed a parked vehicle with two occupants.

The driver, Najee Roberts, engaged in a drug transaction with a man who approached the vehicle on foot. After the transaction, the man walked off and the detectives initiated a motor vehicle stop. The detectives began to speak with Roberts and the passenger, Samad Dudley.

According to a press release, Dudley initially provided a false name to detectives.

Both men were ultimately arrested.

Police say Dudley was found in possession of a loaded handgun in his waistband. He also had an active warrant for his arrest. Roberts had 32 grams of marijuana and items used in the distribution of narcotics.

23-year-old Samad Dudley of Sicklerville was charged with the following:

  • Unlawful possession of a weapon
  • Possession of hollow-point ammunition
  • Possession of a defaced firearm
  • Possession of a large-capacity magazine
  • Hindering apprehension.

Dudley was remanded to the Atlantic County Justice Facility.

33-year-old Najee Roberts of Ewing was charged with these crimes:

  • Possession of CDS with intent to distribute
  • Possession of CDS paraphernalia
  • Loitering to distribute CDS

Roberts was released on a summons with a future court date.

Police did not disclose where the alleged drug deal took place in a press release.

The public is reminded that charges are accusations and all persons are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
