
Atlantic City Man Pleads Guilty to Burglary, Assault, Drug Charges
Atlantic City, N.J. — An Atlantic City man will likely spend a few years behind bars in connection with several cases in the World's Play Ground.
On Monday, 54-year-old Jack Ruth, a.k.a. Eugene Bolan, Atlantic City, pleaded guilty to third-degree burglary, third-degree theft, third-degree possession with intent to distribute CDS, and simple assault. His plea calls for a sentence of three years in state prison.
The Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office said on August 29th, 2022, officers with the Atlantic City Police Department were dispatched to Caesars in reference to a stolen motor vehicle. There, they were met by the victim, a delivery driver, whose vehicle was left running in the valet area while making a delivery. The suspect, Ruth, was seen on surveillance committing the theft and was arrested on a later date.
On December 28th, 2022, ACPD officers were dispatched to Harrah's in reference to security having detained a man in connection with a vehicle burglary that occurred the evening prior. That man, identified as Ruth, was observed on surveillance in the area of the burglarized vehicle before going up to his hotel room. In the room, Ruth was found to have items stolen from the vehicle.
On December 3rd of last year, ACPD officers executed a residential search warrant where they located methamphetamine, digital scales, and additional drug paraphernalia. Three people, including Ruth, were present at the home and arrested.
Finally, on March 25th, a woman came into the Atlantic City Police Department to report a domestic violence incident. She stated that she and Ruth were engaged in an argument when he slapped her in the face twice. He was charged and later arrested.
Sentencing is scheduled for June 18th. His plea calls for him to serve three years in state prison.
