A man from North Jersey has been killed after being hit by a car in Florida -- and the driver of that car was also hurt when she was hit by a vehicle.

According to WFLA-TV, an unidentified 58-year-old man from Hopatcong, Sussex County, was trying to cross Gandy Blvd. in the Tampa/St. Petersburg area around 10:30 this past Wednesday night, December 27th, when he was struck by a 23-year-old woman who was driving a Nissan Maxima.

Authorities say when that woman got out of her car to check on the man, she was then struck by passing car.

The man from Hopatcong was taken to a hospital where he later died.

The driver of the Nissan sustained non-life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the second car was not hurt.
