Maybe I'm hanging out in some beautiful, special parts of our state, but the more I think about it, the more upset I get with the stereotype that New Jersey is a dirty state.

New Jersey Is Not A Dirty State

New Jersey residents like you and me have heard for years that the Garden State is dirty, polluted, and undesirable. Those are lazy jokes by comedians who take the easy route. I call them the armpit jokes.

I firmly believe that New Jersey should not put up with the stereotype anymore because it is completely untrue, and we should hire a lawyer to sue any comedian or performer who makes the jokes for slander.

Fine, that might be too far, but can we at least disprove these vicious stereotypes once and for all?.

Statistics Say New Jersey Is Not That Dirty

So, I did a little research, and I found out that if you use air quality as a gauge, US News says New Jersey is the 20th best in the country.  That means 30 states deserve the pollution jokes more than we do.

So, why does the reputation continue to rear its ugly head in the Garden State? I blame it all on the airport.

No, the airport doesn't make us dirty, but the industrial area around it isn't the most beautiful first impression of our state.
