The difference between Jersey and a lot of other states though is that we also have some insanely weird laws that you can't help but laugh at.

For example, according to the Law Offices Of Joseph A. Rutigliano, it's illegal to raise chickens in bottles in New Jersey.

Like, how? What does that even mean and why was the law ever put into place?

That's just one example of some of NJ's craziest laws, but it pales in comparison to Jersey's two most oddly specific strange laws.

These are seriously weird and strangely specific. You can't help but laugh when you read them.

The first one, according to 24/7 Tempo is that if someone asks to borrow your phone you are legally obligated to lend it to them.

Now, I haven't been able to find anything to back this up, but if it's true I'm sure we're all breaking this law without any remorse.

The second oddly specific law in Jersey is that men can't knit during fishing season.

A few problems here; fishing season varies throughout the year, so how do you know when this law goes into effect? Also, why just men? And does that mean ages 18 or up or just any man in general?

Odds are, you're totally safe nowadays to knit during fishing season guys, but at one point I'm sure this law could have landed you a fine.
