Sadly, getting to enjoy a day like this is becoming more and more expensive, and the summer of 2024 will see some serious price increases for those seeking to purchase seasonal, weekly, or daily beach tags at the Jersey Shore.

Beach Tag Prices Are On The Rise In Jersey

When my wife and I would buy our badges for Seaside Heights each summer, we'd always get them early to advantage of the discounted prices.

We'd each get a seasonal badge for $55 a person.

This year though, those same seasonal beach badges for Seaside Heights will see an increase of ten dollars.

ShoreBeat reports that Seaside Heights will be increasing its beach badge prices for the summer of 2024.

A seasonal badge will cost $65 if purchased before May 15th, 2024 and a seasonal badge will run you $75 a person if you wait until May 16th or later.

Weekly badges will also see a price hike going from $35 to $50 a person and even Seaside Heights daily badges will increase from $10 to $13 per person.

What's The Cause Of Beach Badge Price Hikes?

Like everything else nowadays operating costs have increased and that gets put back onto the consumer.

ShoreBeat reports that the main reasons for the hike are hard costs, maintaining a solid staff throughout the summer, as well as maintenance for Seaside Heights Beach and Boardwalk.

Does Seaside Heights Still Offer Free Passes For Veterans?

ShoreBeat reports that Veterans and active military personnel and their families will be able to access Seaside Heights' beaches for free so long as they have the proper Common Access Card, Uniformed Services ID, DD-214, or a Veterans Benefit ID Card.

Children 11 years and younger will be able to get on the beaches for free still.

In the grand scheme of things, these are minor increases and the money does go to making sure our beaches stay staffed, clean, and safe, but it's always a shock when that price tag jumps up a few bucks.
