Superstitious Things You Do And Keep In Your Car That Make You Feel Safe
When I bought my car a few years ago, a co-worker at the time gave me some loose change to keep inside it, hoping it would bring me a little extra luck and help ensure safe travels. I still have those coins in my car today.
We asked our listeners, and it turns out plenty of people have their own traditions and lucky charms. From religious items to crystals and coins, here are some of the things New Jerseyans say they keep in their cars to help them safely navigate New Jersey's busy roads.
The Sentimental Items New Jersey Drivers Won't Drive Without
- "A red ribbon tied around my car’s rearview mirror."
- "A plastic Jesus hanging from the rearview mirror & St. Christopher in the console."
- "After my mom passed in the nursing home, I found a ceramic angel Christmas ornament in her few possessions. So I kept it and put it on the ledge in my car, under the radio."
- "Rosary Beads on the dash."
- "Crystals."
- "My late husband's wedding ring."
- "I keep a lucky penny in the glovebox!"
- "A picture of my family under my seat."
Turns out, many New Jersey drivers have their own little tradition and meaningful items that help bring them comfort while they're behind the wheel.
