First, let's examine how many flavors of ice cream there are. According to National Today, "There are over 1,000 flavors of ice cream and many more keep getting each year." Here are some additional intriguing ice cream facts from National Today.

Chocolate ice cream was invented before vanilla ice cream. Some strange flavors of ice cream are avocado, garlic, licorice, and bacon. According to statistical data collected, Wisconsin has eaten more ice cream than the other state. While any ice cream flavor is simply delicious, some of the top three popular picks are chocolate, butter pecan, and cookies and cream.

For me my favorite flavor of ice cream is simple, it is good old plain vanilla. For me, vanilla is the best. It's refreshing without being overly sweet. If I want to get creative you can add some things like chocolate chips or maybe a twist with vanilla and chocolate together. Orange is a good combo with vanilla, just hit Kohr's on the boardwalk to grab this summer favorite.

So what is New Jersey's favorite flavor ice cream? According to List Wire, the favorite flavor in the Garden State is "pistachio". That's right and even though it's not my absolute favorite ice cream, it is on my top 10 and if you are in the mood for something different and a bit nutty, give a bowl of pistachio a try.
